I have a deep affection for the Trigun music, probably because it is so evocative when I hear it later!
One series whose music I thought would fit with the energy of Trigun is S.cry.ed, an older anime with fantastic, jazzy music. It doesn't have enough calm music that I think it would be perfect for the series, but I can imagine this song, Alter, playing during some of the crazy chase and fight scenes starring Vash:

@ fantardism: I totally agree with you about Zeppelin! It just always sounds like Trigun to me. The lyrics of this one, about how time is cylindrical, makes me think of Vash. "If my wings should fail me, Lord, please meet me with another pair" always reminds me of this from the manga: view.thespectrum.net/series/trigun-maximum-volume-01.html?ch=Volume+15&page=219Also, this song always makes me think of Wolfwood:

^Hey, Sugar Pill! Good to see you here, doooode I'm fairly certain at least two songs on the Trigun soundtrack lifted riffs directly from In My Time Of Dying. Stealing from thieves, ha! I've always thought The Rover is disarmingly optimistic in a very bittersweet, Trigun sort of way: And our time is flying See the candle burning low Is the new world rising From the shambles of the old Re: Behind Blue Eyes: pretty much the go-to song for all blue eyed anti-heroes XD @katie: They Might Be Giants FTW! I'm pretty sure if Vash had a band, it would have to be something as sillyawesome as TMBG.

fantardism Yay for TMBG!! I've always sort of associated them with Vash because so many of their cheerful, silly-sounding songs are actually really sad when you look at the lyrics. It's perfect for him! I'd imagine he'd love them too c:

Bunbury's "Frente a Frente" reminds me of Vash and Knives :'D It's in spanish but the melody makes me want to cry every time.
A quick translation:
"Remains, what little remains of our love, there's barely any left barely any words, left
Only the silence remains which makes the long and cold night burst this night that never ends that's all that remains
Only the urge to cry remains to see our love grow further apart face to face, we lowered our gazes for nothing else is left to say, nothing"

This song should be self-explanatory if you listen to it.

Its mostly a lot of Southern Gothic, which seems weird but generally I use those songs for when I'm writing Wolfwood, particularly this one.
this mask of laughter’s your true self’s disguise if it fools your God then your God has no eyes your costume can’t cover what your eyes expose you’ve left all your wretchedness closed
the more you ignore the more pain that you feel the air is thick with the thoughts you conceal the whole world’s undressing in front of your eyes as you add to your senseless disguise
come my way and hurry along I’ll take you soaring with the angels and gods leave your prison chains on the wall you’ll live forever and you’ll never fall
In a way I treat it as how Wolfwood is leading Vash to Knives and also how he is as a character.
This song I have referred to as my eye of Michael boys song. Kind view it as the eventual rebellion that both Wolfwood and Livio had against their former lives and how they fight their way ways out of it.
I can't fully explain this one, just I often use it when I am writing Livio. It remind me of him for some reason.

....I've got more Queen songs. They just seem to click with Trigun for me for some reason.
These are both for Knives, this time.
First is "Death on Two Legs"
Death on two legs You're tearing me apart Death on two legs You've never had a heart of your own Kill joy bad guy big talking small fry You're just an old barrow boy Have you found a new toy to replace me? Can you face me? But now you can kiss my ass goodbye
I see it from Vash's point of view, like he's just upset with all of Knives' choices and actions and stuff. And he makes Vash's life suck. And Vash is really getting sick of it.
And the second is "Princes of the Universe"
And here we are. We're the princes of the universe. Here we belong.Fighting for survival. We've come to be the rulers of your world. I am immortal. I have inside me blood of kings. I have no rival. No man can be my equal. Take me to the future of your world.
This is from Knives' POV, it reminded me of when he tried to kill all the SEEDs people on the ships so he and Vash could have their own planet and stuff with the plants and his superiority feelings towards humans. And then idk it just really hits a vibe with his Maximum version for me, especially towards the last few volumes.
idk i hope that made sense. enjoy more TriQueen haha c:
