And the cool thing about that is that not only is Rem the source of the blank ticket idea, but everything we know about her is an example of that philosophy. She doesn't just teach it, she embodies it.

Not sure how philosophical this is, but I was watching the series on Netflix with my friends last night. After Dominique is defeated, Vash spouts the line "Instead of cleaning up people, you should clean house for the man you love. Like me! I am kidding!" To which my brain said "D'aww! Lookit you being all misoginistic! You're cute! Sometimes I forget you are written by a Catholic <3"
I apologize if I offend any Catholic. I love you guys!

Haha, indeed! Don't forget that he talked about groping her earlier, and that he also said she should wear a dress the next time when she was running away...
Although, to be fair to Nightow, the "romantic"/woman-obsessed overtones in the anime don't seem to be present in the manga, and were added by the crew making the show. I don't have a link to a source, but I know it was talked about before - anyone have a link to that info?

Gotcha covered! It was in an interview with the director, here: www.oocities.org/sumirechan/tri-nishimura.htmlIn the manga, Vash still has the groping line, but I'll let him have that one, since he and Dominique were having a button popping contest. XD But I think that's as womanizing as Vash ever gets in the manga. (The episode where he inch-worms across the floor and looks up the girl's skirt is kinda-sorta in the manga, but set aside as an official pilot chapter, and it's obvious Vash is being played-up and exaggerated for the sake of winning people over for the pilot. So whether or not that counts as canon is up to the reader to decide.)
