This thread will be for reference images of things like guns and coats and anything else you need, to be used as a quick one-stop shop for artists or cosplayers needing to find a good reference for a given prop or outfit! I'll start us off with a reference sheet I drew for Vash's 4th coat in the Trigun Maximum manga, AKA the one he wears for the last half of the series. I put in notations about which parts Nightow is consistent on and which ones change frequently, so you know which features are most important. Basically, these are the defining characteristics of Vash's final outfit, based on the hours and hours I've spent pouring over the manga to come up with a generally consistent picture of this coat. Nightow has admitted that he can never draw it the same way twice, but I've put together the essentials for you all on one page:  Uh, the full version is kinda huge. Useful thread is useful! Here's Vash's second coat/arm:  And his weird armor thingie:  (I don't know why photobucket is suddenly being a jerk about file size. I'll edit this post later if/when I figure out how to make it stop resizing everything I post, because that first pic is quite a bit larger than how it appears here) OT: I tend to draw Vash in his manga outfits, but I just can't bring myself to draw his manga gun. The chamber's not aligned with the barrel, htf is that supposed to work, Mr. Nightow?! But, my puzzlement notwithstanding, those are really good refs you've assembled, karaii! @katie: I have good quality scans of the whole thing, so unless you want to scan it in super hi-res, I could save you some time and upload the character sheets myself. |

fantardism - Heh, yeah, I never really understood what was going on with Vash's gun in the manga. I figure Nightow went with the rule of cool and by the time he knew how guns worked, it was too late to retcon the design. Though, given how often he mixes up the coat details... And OOOHH anime artbook scans? Do share!! *A*

Actually, there are guns where the barrel is aligned with the bottom of the chamber, specifically, the Rhino revolvers work this way. Actually, there are guns where the barrel is aligned with the bottom of the chamber, specifically, the Rhino revolvers work this way. It's too low even for that! His gun cannot work. |

I don't get along so well with our new scanner, it crops out stuff without even asking me if I wanted to crop it in the first place!  |
